Bayside Council in southern Sydney faced ongoing issues with dangerous and illegal driving and anti-social behaviour along its waterfront. After traditional measures failed to yield results, the council turned to technology, implementing an AI and machine learning solution called City+ Solution developed by Art of Logic.
The solution includes real-time alerts for illegally parked vehicles, better quality security surveillance, and controlled access to the council's CCTV network by NSW Police. The solution reduced the need for staff to be on-site in potentially unsafe situations, led to a 75-80% drop in repeat offenders parking illegally, and delivered a 90% decrease in hooning and illegal driving events. The council was also able to provide improved reporting through business intelligence dashboards.
